ABS CBN actress Jodi Sta. Maria had gone through a stressful and traumatic marriage with Panfilo Lacson III and it changed her life and how she views it for the rest of her life. “Before becoming a workaholic, I became an alcoholic. I drank day and night. I even drank during tapings, ang gusto ko kasi masolusyunan 'yung feeling ko (I wanted a solution to my feeling) of pain and emptiness.

When alcohol wasn’t enough, I turned to drugs. I felt empty. I pretended to be okay when the truth is hindi naman talaga (I wasn't really). I was in and out of bad relationships that left me all the more wounded and broken." She admitted.

But years later, after she found her comfort on her craft as an actress, she started healing and eventually became good friends with his former husband and his partner who she now treats as her best friend. Starstruck alumna Iwa Moto.

Jodi's son, Thirdy usually stays on his father's home where Iwa genuinely takes care of him and treats him as her own son. It was reported a lot of times that the former actress personally drives the kid on his way to school on a daily basis before the pandemic.
